THE TECHNOLOGY

What Is Paint Protection Film?

Paint Protection Film, commonly known as PPF is a thermoplastic urethane film applied directly to your vehicle's painted surfaces. Originally developed for military helicopter rotor blades, PPF is now the gold standard in automotive paint protection.

Unlike waxes or sealants that sit on top of the paint, PPF creates a physical barrier that absorbs impacts from rocks, road debris, bug acids, bird droppings, and UV rays before they can ever reach your paint.

Modern PPF features self-healing technology, minor surface scratches disappear on their own with heat from the sun or warm water. The film is virtually invisible, preserving your vehicle's factory finish and boosting resale value.

Self-Healing Surface

Light scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat, the film literally heals itself.

Rock Chip Resistance

Absorbs high-velocity rock and debris impacts that would chip or crack unprotected paint.

UV Ray Protection

Blocks UV radiation that causes paint to fade, oxidize, and lose depth over time.

Virtually Invisible

Optically clear film that preserves your factory color with zero visual impact.

Removable & Safe

Can be removed without damaging the underlying paint, leaves your factory finish intact.

WHY PPF

BUILT TO LAST

01

Protects Resale Value

Vehicles with PPF-protected paint consistently command higher resale prices. Clean, chip-free paint is one of the first things buyers and dealers inspect.

02

Easier To Maintain

The hydrophobic top coat repels water, dirt, and contaminants, making weekly maintenance washes faster and less frequent.

03

Long-Term Savings

A single PPF installation costs a fraction of what paint repair, touch-up, or panel respray costs. Prevention beats repair every time.

04

Chemical Resistance

Acid rain, bird droppings, bug splatter, and road tar — PPF resists them all before they can etch into your clear coat.

05

Pairs With Ceramic

For the ultimate finish, we apply ceramic coating over PPF — adding gloss depth and hydrophobic performance on top of the film's protection.

06

Warranty Backed

Our PPF installations are backed by manufacturer warranty covering yellowing, cracking, peeling, and delamination for up to 10 years.

HOW WE DO IT

OUR PPF PROCESS

01

Inspection & Prep

We inspect every panel under professional lighting and perform a full decontamination wash before any film is cut or applied.

02

Custom Film Cutting

Each piece is precision-cut using a computer-plotted pattern specific to your exact vehicle year, make, and model.

03

Expert Installation

Film is applied panel by panel in our climate-controlled environment, edges wrapped and tucked for a seamless, invisible finish.

04

Final Inspection

Every panel is inspected under multi-angle lighting for bubbles, lifting edges, or imperfections before we hand back your keys.

Common Questions
PPF FAQ
How long does PPF last?
+
High-quality PPF typically lasts 7–10 years with proper maintenance. Our installations are backed by a manufacturer warranty covering yellowing, cracking, peeling, and delamination. The lifespan depends on environmental conditions, how often the vehicle is driven, and how well the film is maintained with proper washing technique.
Will PPF change the look of my paint?
+
No — modern PPF is optically clear and virtually invisible. In fact, it often enhances the appearance of your paint by adding a subtle depth and gloss to the surface. The only exception is matte or satin PPF, which is available for customers who want to change their paint's finish rather than preserve it.
Can PPF be removed without damaging the paint?
+
Yes — when professionally removed, PPF comes off cleanly without damaging the underlying factory paint. The adhesive is designed to release safely without lifting or staining the clear coat. We strongly recommend professional removal over DIY — improper technique, especially on aged film, can cause adhesive residue or clear coat lifting.
How is PPF different from ceramic coating?
+
PPF and ceramic coating serve different but complementary roles. PPF is a physical urethane film that absorbs impacts from rock chips, scratches, and road debris — it is your primary line of defense against physical damage. Ceramic coating is a chemical bond that adds hydrophobic water-beading properties and deep gloss. We frequently apply ceramic coating over PPF to combine both benefits in a single protection system.
How long does PPF installation take?
+
Installation time depends on the coverage level. Partial coverage (front bumper, hood leading edge, mirrors) typically takes 1–2 days. A full front end package takes 2–3 days. Full body PPF typically takes 3–5 days depending on the vehicle's size and complexity. We'll give you an accurate timeline during your consultation.
Does PPF really self-heal?
+
Yes — modern PPF contains a self-healing top coat that uses heat to repair light surface scratches and swirl marks. Minor abrasions disappear on their own within minutes in direct sunlight or with a warm water rinse. Deeper scratches that penetrate through the film's top coat will not self-heal, but they will have successfully protected your paint underneath from the same damage.
When is the best time to apply PPF?
+
The best time is immediately after purchasing a new vehicle — before the paint has had any exposure to road debris, rock chips, or UV damage. Applying PPF to a new or recently corrected vehicle means the film is protecting a perfect surface from day one. That said, PPF can be applied at any time — we perform paint correction beforehand if needed to ensure a clean foundation.
